a tale of two dryers, January 24, 2012 By This review is from: Solano Super Red & Black 1800 Watt Dryer (Misc.) I've had this dryer for over five years... probably closer to seven or eight years but I can't quite remember. I also bought one for my sister at the same time. She called me recently and mentioned that hers seemed to be dying... in a spectacular fit of sparks each time she used it. The problem was, she was still trying to use it, sparks and all. In order to avoid her literally setting her hair on fire, I sent her mine immediately, priority mail. Her mane is now safe. I miss this dryer though and that got me to thinking about its replacement and a review.
Review: This dryer is excellent in every way as far as professional results go. Pretty much every stylist in every salon I've been to in NYC uses this exact model. I have thinner hair so this is a lot of power for me. My sister has much thicker and longer hair and this dryer is just made for that kind of volume. It blows really hot - you can see the steam rise off your hair. Doesn't burn the hair but *can* really hurt if... Read more
